Adult Education-Jewish Studies

The Adat Shalom Adult Education-Jewish Studies Program offers the best of clergy, community and lay-led teaching and discussion opportunities, complemented by special programs led by visiting scholars. As a community committed to life-long learning, Adat Shalom opens all of its Jewish Studies programs to members and guests, including interested young people who have become bar or bat mitzvah. Our goal is to put together an exciting year of study for people at all levels of engagement and interest. The Sunday Morning Series will see a variety of teachers lecturing on a wide range of topics: poetry, history, and Torah studies. Our Shabbat Matters programming will continue for our Torah School parents and others that are interested in Shabbat morning study. Our popular Israeli literature reading sessions will also be ongoing. Makom@AdatShalom (click for more information) continues to offer creative programming with many opportunities for contemplative practices for new and more advanced practitioners. We hope that, with enough interest, to be able to offer Hebrew skills classes and Torah chanting classes later in the year, as well.

These are just some of the highlights. There will be many more programs developed throughout the year by our clergy and congregants so stay in touch via the Jewish Studies listserve.. For more information on any of the programs please contact Marsha Teichman (This email address is being protected from spambots.
