Shabbat Voices 2024

Back again this year, Adat Shalom’s Shabbat Voices is an exciting program that will bring in guest voices to Shabbat Services! On seven shabbatot, scheduled monthly from November 2023-June 2024, we will host a guest teacher, artist or activist who will be featured, both during shabbat morning worship time (10:45am) as well as during a post-oneg session from 1-2pm.

The Shabbat Voices program is, in many ways, a realization of a core concept of Reconstructionist Judaism. Mordecai Kaplan talked about the richness of Jewish civilization. Worship was only one facet of that civilization. The Shabbat Voices program will highlight the talent of our guests and will provide new ways to experience and engage with other elements of Jewish culture, learning and spirituality.

December 1-2, 2023: Jacob Spike Krauss

Jacob will bring his high energy, original music in helping to lead services both Friday night and Shabbat morning, followed by a special session, post-oneg, on shabbat.
