Who We Are

Is there a typical profile of an Adat Shalom member?  Most definitely not!  We are individuals from diverse backgrounds, including a wide range of religious and secular backgrounds Jewish experiences and spiritual focus. We embrace members of all ages, life stations, sexual orientations and incomes. Our diverse perspectives are our strength and are central to our conversation and our exploration of Judaism. We are individuals coming together to form a unique congregation with a sense of intellectual integrity, moral purpose and meaningful community.

What makes Adat Shalom a special and truly unique place?  We are loving wrestlers with faith and Torah. Attending a service at Adat Shalom can be both comfortingly traditional and refreshingly energized. Services are exciting and enriching, utilizing musical instruments, full of lively debate of Torah, and frequently include guests who enhance our perspectives and Jewish growth.

There is a rich array of programs and activities that complement religious services where our prayers and words are come alive. Adat Shalom is committed to pursuing justice and peace through a variety of social action programs. We gather for holiday celebrations, to explore Jewish, US, and Israeli issues, literature, film and music, cultural and educational topics and more.
